Jodee Gelinas

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Jodee. L Gelinas on September 25, 2024, in Warner Robins, Georgia. Born on October 15, 1956, in Wilson, North Carolina. Jodee lived a life marked in determination, devotion, and wonderfully unique personality. A memorial gathering to celebrate and honor Jodee's life will be held on October 5, 2024, from 1PM - 4PM at Heritage Memorial Funeral Home and Crematory.

A beacon of humor, fun, and loyalty, Jodee will be remembered for her quirky personality and dry humor. She possessed and intrinsic ability to march to the beat of her own drum and to tell it like it is, endearing her to friends and family alike. Family, friends and neighbors can recall countless moments of laughter and heartfelt companionship, especially with her signature goodbye.... Love you...Mean It!

Jodee always had an entrepreneur spirit and instinct, starting many successful businesses in her life time. Throughout her career, Jodee demonstrated immense dedication and service, notably as an Ombudsman for the U.S Navy, during her husband Bruce's twenty-year service. After being a successful business owner for many years, at the age of 56, Jodee decided to go back to school to peruse a lifelong dream of counseling others. She graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from Macon State College, and a Master's Degree in Counseling from Fort Valley State University.

Jodee had a thirst for knowledge, and was always reading one or more books at any given time. She especially loved having "book club" with her husband Bruce, where they would read to one another and travel the world together just from their living room. She had a love of crafts, and painting, chiefly with paper crafts where she made her own distinctive pictures and books.

Jodee was the beloved wife of 49 years to her high school sweetheart and soulmate, Bruce A. Gelinas. Together they built a loving family, including children, their son, David A. Gelinas (Justine Soria) and their daughter, Katherine R. Gelinas (Casey Vaissiere-Linhart). Her legacy continues through her cherished grandchildren, Rachel L. Wyne (Jeff) and Joseph A. Gelinas, and her great granddaughter, Serenity.

Her devotion extended beyond her immediate family as she shared a close and special bond with her only sibling, her baby sister, Celia Ann Warren (Dallas). She also shared a long relationship with her brother-in-law Mark E. Gelinas and his wife Kate. Jodee was also the cherished Aunt to all of her nieces and nephews, Joy (Jessica), Mark Jr., Sarah, CeCe (Celia), Grayson, and Jillian, leaving a lasting impact on all her extended family.

Jodee Lynn Gelinas' memory will forever be treasured by all who were fortunate to know her. She loved you.... Mean It!
