Riverside Funeral Home - Albuquerque
Joe Esquibel
June 26th, 1939 - January 6th, 2020
On Monday, January 6, 2020, Joe was embraced by the Almighty Lord, and he was taken to a new, eternal life with Jesus. He was born in Mountainair, NM, on June 26, 1939, and he lived the majority of his life in Albuquerque, NM. He was also a military veteran, serving in the US Navy from 1960-64. Joe was a very giving person, and he seemed to have time for everyone he met through the years. He was always ready to listen patiently, and he touched numerous lives around him through his thoughtfulness, kindness, and compassion. He had a very generous heart and a very inquisitive mind. His greatest joy in life was being involved with his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, family, and friends. His family was his highest priority, second only to his deep and abiding faith in The Lord. He is survived by his daughter, Michelle (Jim), and his sons, Michael (Julie), and Gary (April). Also, Joe was a caretaker for about 20 years, to a young man who was like a son to him, Tracy Tefft. He had six grandchildren: Christopher (Jessica), Brendon (Angela), Alyssa (Chris), Jonathan, Bryden, and his little Addysen. He also had six great-grandchildren: William, Ashley, Levi, Benaiah, Makenna, and Savannah. Three siblings: Maggie, Eva, and Nora. In addition, he had numerous nieces and nephews. Cremation has taken place, and Joe specifically requested there be no further services or memorials on his behalf. He would like everyone to remember him as he was in life, and that he'll be waiting for all his family and friends in Heaven. Arrangements entrusted to: Riverside Funeral Home of Albuquerque 225 San Mateo Blvd. NE (505) 764-9663
