Joe Gilas
September 5th, 1925
Gilas, Joe, of Commerce City, passed away October 14. Joe was born September 5, 1925 in Pryor, CO and served in the South Pacific during World War II as an Army Air Corp P51 Mustang aircraft mechanic. He was a three decade Adams City HS teacher and coach, working 15 summers as a naturalist/Ranger at Rocky Mountain National Park. Joe was also a three decade docent at the Denver Museum of Nature and Science. Preceded in death by wife Shirley, he is survived by daughters Bonnie, Jolyne, Kathy, son Nick, and grandchildren Steven, Lauren, Kelly and Christopher.
