February 16th, 1935 - May 3rd, 2009
Mr. Joe Walter Reece, age 74, a resident of Auburndale passed away Sunday, May 3, 2009 at the Lakeland Regional Medical Center due to a stroke. Mr. Reece was born February 16, 1935 in Alabama to Jesse D. and Esther (Howell) Reece. He was a retired insurance agent, member of the First Baptist Church in Auburndale and a resident for 32 years coming from Southside, AL. Joe was an Honorably discharged Veteran of the United States Army. He was preceded in death by his parents J.D. & Esther; son Eric Reece, 2 brothers and 2 sisters. Joe is survived by his loving and devoted family: wife: Nell Reece of Auburndale, FL., brother: Charles Reece of Brownsboro, AL., grandson: Richard Eric Reece, III of Hermitage, TN., granddaughter: Ramsey Renea Reece of Lebanon, TN, sister in law: Aileen Bongers of Melbourne, FL., several nieces & nephews. In lieu of flowers those so desiring to make donations in Joe Reece's name to: Florida Baptist Children's Home, P.O. Box 8190, Lakeland, FL. 33802. Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM Thursday, May 7, 2009 at the Kersey Funeral Home with interment to follow at the Auburndale Memorial Park. Visitation will be held Wednesday, May 6, 2009 from 6:00 till 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
