SPRINGFIELD — A graveside service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 8, at Lane Memorial Gardens in Eugene for JoElla Meryl “Jo” Walker of Springfield, who died Oct. 4 of age-related causes. She was 87.She was born May 10, 1925, in Silverton to Charles and Leota Sturtevant Billings. She married E. Wayne Carpenter on May 14, 1942, in Oregon. He died Sept. 4, 1986. She married Kenneth Walker on May 4, 1990, in Reno, Nev. He died May 4, 1991.She was a homemaker and worked as a home builder and as a sales clerk for Econo Sales.Survivors include her life partner of 16 years, Elmer “Brick” Smith; a daughter, Lynda VanDusen of Springfield; a brother, Archie Billings of Roseburg; and one grandchild.Arrangements by Musgrove’s at Lane Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home in Eugene. Remembrances to Signature Hospice.
