Johannes C Norenberg

NORENBERG, Johannes, C., 85, passed away on December 20, 2009. On December 20, we lost our dear Hans/Opa (also known as Pa). We always knew he had a big heart, metaphorically speaking, and was loved by all, especially his grandchildren. But the doctors discovered that his heart really was enlarged, and he died peacefully in his sleep Sunday morning. Hans was a chemical engineer, a physicist and, as he would say, a “professional trouble shooter”. He could solve any problem or perform any task. He had a far-reaching intellect and curiosity. Hans was preceded in death by his first wife, Doris. He is survived by his loving wife, Selma Dendy of Tampa, Florida; three children, Corry Watt of Halifax, Nova Scotia, Jon Norenburg of Washington, D.C, and Peter Norenburg of the Netherlands; his step children, Pam DiMuccio and her partner Liz Hillen of Tampa, and David Matthews of Derry, New Hampshire; his loving grandchildren, Julie and Chris Watt of Halifax and Abby and Jack Matthews of Windham, New Hampshire; and his brother, Rudi Norenburg of Schelklingen, Germany. Hans will be dearly missed by all those whose lives he touched.
