Simplicity: Lowcountry Cremation and Burial Services - North Charleston
John Charles Asquith
John Charles Asquith lived his life by defining what it meant to be an American family man through service to his country, loyalty to the many friends he made from one coast to another, and endless devotion to his loving family. Born in Ellicottville, NY, in 1931 and raised with loving hands, Dad knew nothing but the centrality of family, an abiding joy of music, and the importance of faith. He experienced nature directly – canoeing and camping with his beloved Boy Scouts, learning to snow ski and water ski at 40, exploring Yosemite, and walking on Charleston beaches. Dad lived to travel: interstates, country roads, and a zillion plane trips. He drove across America eight times, and went to his 50th state at 85. After an Army stint in occupied Germany, he discovered American Airlines in 1952, and transferred to sunny LA where he met our mother, Charlene, who shared his love of travel, kids, and extended family, and who predeceased Dad in 2014. Dad is survived by: his three adoring children, Thomas Asquith and his wife Deborah Lade of Cincinnati, OH; Sally Asquith-Johnson, her husband Robert Johnson of Summerville, SC; Ellen Anderson of Summerville, SC; his nine grandchildren, Greg Frisbie of Charleston, SC, Sarah Bodily and her husband Brad of Richardson, TX, Quinn Hayden and his sweetheart Jenn Walker of Goose Creek, Brian Asquith and his wife Esya Volchek of Boston, Matthew Frisbie of Modesto, CA, John S. Asquith and his wife Lauren of Cincinnati, OH, Jessica Wood and her husband Patrick of Middletown, RI, Andrew Hayden and his wife Marie of Summerville, SC, and Boomer Anderson of Summerville, SC; and his two great-grandchildren, Julius and Oliver Hayden of Summerville, SC. and Haven Bodily of Richardson, TX. In lieu of flowers, donations are welcomed at Hospice of Charleston, 4975 LaCross Road, N. Charleston, SC 29406.
