On September 15, 2010, John Barney passed away peacefully at his home in Shoreline, Washington. He was 88. Mr. Barney and his wife, Isabel, lived in Hagerstown for 45 years before moving to Shoreline in 2006. Mr. Barney served in the Navy in WWII as a Lt. Mr. Barney worked for Doubleday Co, Inc. in Smithsburg and later at the Cedar Lawn facility. He retired in 1987 as Systems Manager. He enjoyed traveling, gardening, golfing, and watching sports. His positive attitude and sense of humor served him well throughout his life.
