John C. Becker
July 31st, 1925 - November 19th, 2008
"Monson-John C. Becker, III, 83 of High St. was welcomed into eternity on November 19, 2008 from his home with his family by his side. Born July 31, 1925 in Rockville Centre, NY, he was the son of the late John C. II and Friedericka (Jacobs) Becker. John has lived in Monson since 1998, previously residing in Acton, MA. He attended and graduated from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and continued with post graduate work at Polytechnic Institute of Brooklyn. He was registered as a Professional Engineer in the Branch of Chemical Engineering in 1952, and became a member of the American Chemical Society. A pioneer in small particle size latex chemistry, John was recognized for his professional accomplishments by being listed in "Who's Who of American Science". Being genuine in his faith in Jesus Christ as his personal Savior, and involved in local church assemblies, John was a member of Grace Chapel in Lexington for many years and more recently attended Lily of the Valley Christian Church in Monson and The House of Prayer for all Nations in Chicopee. John was predeceased by his wife Marjorie M. (Brower) in 1994. He will be greatly missed by his family to whom he was so committed during his life. However, his family rejoices with him in knowing that he fulfilled the purpose God assigned to him for this life. He is survived by his children, Deborah J. Becker of Cary, NC, Patricia L. Lueckert and her husband Carl of Hampton, VA, and John C. Becker, IV and his wife Ann, with whom he lived in Monson. John also leaves his grandchildren Jason S. Arsenault and his wife Candy, Gregory K. Arsenault, John C. Becker, V and his wife Bethany, Jennifer C. Becker, Daniel C. Becker, Timothy J. Becker, and Joshua D. Becker. He is also survived by the following great grandchildren: Taylor A. Burns, Alyssa M. Arsenault, Alexis L. Arsenault, Laylani A. Arsenault, Daniel I. Becker and John C. Becker, VI. Visitation will be held Monday from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the Beers & Story Palmer Funeral Home, 1475 N. Main St. (Rte 20). A Celebration of Life Service will be held Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home followed by burial in Woodlawn Cemetery in Acton. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, 1 Billy Graham Parkway, Charlotte, NC 28201. "
