Warner Robins, GA: John Wesley ”J.W.” Brinson, Sr., 81, passed away Tuesday, June 29, 2004. Services will be at 11:00 AM Friday in the chapel of Heritage Memorial Funeral Home with burial at 4:00 PM in the Westview Cemetery in Wrightsville, GA. Visitation will be from 7 until 9 PM Thursday evening at the funeral home. Mr. Brinson was born in Johnson County, GA to the late Robert E. and Sara Lovett Brinson. He was preceded in death by a son, Stephen E. Brinson and two brothers, Robert and Edison Brinson. Mr. Brinson was a member of the Northview United Methodist Church, a member of the Fellowship Sunday School Class, former chairman of the Administration Board and a former Lay Leader. While serving in the U.S. Air Corp., Mr. Brinson fought in World War II. He was a member of the 454th Bomber Group Association, NARFE and AARP. He was very active in the atheletic sports programs in Warner Robins and was retired from Robins Air Force Base as an inventory control specialist. Survivors include his wife, Billie Brinson of Warner Robins, son John W. Ann Brinson,Jr., daughters, Brenda B. Steve Walker and Kelly B. Tom Wyatt all of Warner Robins, daughter-in-law Beverly R. Brinson of Gainesville,GA, sister Mary Jane Carter of Richmond Hill, GA, sister-in-law Mary Brinson of Oglethorpe,GA, 10 grandchildren, 7 great grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Methodist Home For Children and Youth at 304 Pierce Ave., Macon, GA 31204, in memory of Mr. Brinson. Heritage Memorial Funeral is in charge of arrangements.
