November 30th, 1964 - July 3rd, 2010
John Anthony Carrasco John Anthony Carrasco, 45, was born November 30, 1964 to Cecil and Jane (Gaitan) Carrasco in Tempe, Arizona. He died Saturday, July 3, 2010 after a valiant short battle with cancer. John fell peacefully asleep and ended this earthly journey and has joined the Heavenly choir to rejoice for all eternity. From 1964 until 1985, John resided in Tempe, Arizona until he joined the Armed Forces. He had lived in Washington State for 22 years. The last 7 years he lived in Olympia. He was a McClintock High School graduate as well as BCTI College. On July 31, 1998 John married Clarisse E. Guzman, who survives. John joined the Army in 1985 and served during Desert Storm and Desert Shield. He served at several different posts to include Korea until 1991 when he was honorable discharged from services. He had many skills and fields of training while in the Army and worked at a variety of jobs after separating from active duty. During the last 7 years, John had served the Thurston County community in taxi service with DC Cab, Speedy Cab and RediCab. John loved to fish and collected comic books, he also enjoyed singing Karaoke and had a beautiful voice. John loved to minister to others and encourage them to seek God and trust and serve Him. John was well known and respected in the community as he served our area in Taxi service. Many residents came to rely on him for his kindness and willingness to go the extra mile for them and asked for him by name. He was also instrumental in helping RediCab to establish in the Olympia area through diligent networking and dedication. Including his wife, Clarisse, John is survived by sons, Dennis A. Kish, Jr and David A. Kish whom John raised as his own and they hold him in high honor for his consistent positive example and unconditional love; brothers, Jim and Joseph Carrasco; sisters, Diana Berggren (Carrasco), Sandra Drouin (Carrasco), and JoAnn Manheimer (Carrasco); and many nieces and nephews on the Carrasco side of the family and by marriage; also 8 grandchildren John was preceded in death by his father, Cecil Garcia Carrasco; father-in-law, Lucas A. Guzman; and sister-in-law, Barbara D. Ensign (Guzman). Memorial donations are suggested to: The Fisher House c/o Puget Sound VA Hospital 1600 Columbian Way Seattle WA 98108 The Fisher House is a wonderful establishment that was founded to aid family members of the veterans who are in the VA Hospital for any length of time. They provide a room and food and much TLC during a sometimes very difficult time and they depend strictly on donations to stay open. Please leave condolences
