January 3rd, 1947 - August 7th, 2018
John Joseph Chmura, of Meriden, CT died on August 7, 2018 at the age of 71. John was born in South Meriden, CT. He attended Orville H. Platt High School and received a business degree from Post Jr. College. After serving 2 tours in Vietnam as a Marine, John worked for General Motors his entire career until he retired in 2006. In retirement, John enjoyed living in Cape Coral, FL and spending time with his family. He liked going out to eat and would never let you pay. His sense of humor was as big as his smile and he always had a smile on his face. John opened his heart and his home to all those that knew him. John will be loved and missed by surviving son, Chris (Paula); daughter, Jessica (Michael and Sophia); brother, David (Cheryl, Benjamin and Susan). He is predeceased by his father, Benjamin, mother, Helen, brother, Michael, and sister, Rosemarie. At John's request, no services will be held. There will be a celebration of life for his family at a later date. Condolences may be sent to 10517 Gateridge Road, Cockeysville, Maryland, 21030.
