Costanzo, John P., 78, of St. Petersburg, died Monday April 23, 2001 at Northside Hospital and Heart Institute. Born in Philadelphia, PA he came here in 1985 from Asbury Park, NJ, where he owned the West Side Ford dealership. He was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic church. He was a president of the New Jersey Horseman?s Association and an Executive Director of the National Horseman?s Association. In 1987-88 he covered horse racing at Tampa Bay Downs for the St. Petersburg Times. He served in the U.S. Marines Corps during WWII. Survivors include three sons: Peter, Ricky and Michael, all of Allenhurst, NJ; one daughter, Julie Costanzo, Manhattan, NY; and eight grandchildren. Those who wish may make contributions to the local Horeman's Benevolent Association. Anderson-McQueen Funeral Homes & Cremation Tribute Center-McLeod Chapel, St. Petersburg.
