John Edwards Evans Jr.

John Edward Evans Jr. passed away on October 28, 2021 in Tualatin, Oregon. John was born in Oakland, California on June 1st, 1946 to John and Patricia Evans. When he was 16, he met the love of his life, Cathie. They were married for 54 years. In 1970, he started teaching and coaching at St. Mary’s High School in Berkely, California. In 1977, he moved to Oregon where he started working at Klamath Union High School as a teacher and coach. John is survived by his wife, Cathie Evans; children, Stephanie Branson, Jennifer Ward, and Bryan (Shannon) Evans; grandchildren, Tyler and Christopher Branson, Danial and Elinor Ward, and Abigail and Violette Evans; and siblings, brothers Bill (Jeanie) Evans, Steve (Sue) Evans, Barry (Sheila) Evans, and sister Janet Evans. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Cancer Research Hospital, the Wilsonville Food Bank, Habitat for Humanity, and OHSU Knight Cancer Center.
