John "Jack" F. Ewald
December 9th, 1922 - April 14th, 2016
John "Jack” F. Ewald, 93, of Greeley, CO passed away peacefully at his home on April 14, 2016. He was born December 9, 1922 in Mt. Carmel, IL to George and Sadie (Waters) Ewald. In his youth, he named himself Jack and that name stuck all through his life. Jack graduated from Greeley High in 1942; he was a drum Major and was pursuing a career in electrical engineering but when WWII started all that changed. Shortly after graduation he enlisted into the United States Army and in 1943 was transferred to the Army Air Corp as a Signal Corpsman. He was based in Lemoore, CA where he met his future wife Georgia Sever. On September 5, 1945 they were married at the Airbase in Lemoore, CA. Jack had a long career with Standard Change Makers as the West Coast Regional Manager, and retired in 1988. He and Georgia moved to Colorado in 1990. But he wasn’t ready for retirement so went to work for Ideal Services and worked for them until 2008. He and Georgia enjoyed cruising and saw much of this planet in their travels. Jack was also an avid golfer. Jack is survived by sons, Donald and wife Anita of Grants Pass, OR, Edward and wife Yuko of Greeley; grandchildren, Kimberley Lee, Jeniece Ewald, Darlene Francis, Craig Ewald and wife Desiree, Casey Ewald, Chad Ewald and wife Lisa; great- grandchildren, Maddison Lee, Brody and Dexter Ewald and Aden and Aubrey Ewald. Jack is preceded in death by his wife of 69 years, Georgia who passed in 2014, his parents; son, John and brothers, George, Art and Edward along with sisters, Mary and Sara. Family services will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to the "Weld County Humane Society” or "St. Peter Catholic Church” in care of Adamson Funeral & Cremation, 2000 47th Avenue, Greeley, CO 80634.
