John Patrick Fitzgerald, 65, of St. Petersburg, passed away July 19, 2019, at Bayfront Medical Center. Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, John moved to Florida and graduated from the University of South Florida in 1976. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Dorris Fitzgerald, and his brother, Michael Fitzgerald. John is survived by his son, Elliot Fitzgerald; siblings Charlie Fitzgerald, Gerri Wrigge, and Allison Chiavazza; grandchild, Avraham ('Avi') Fitzgerald. John, an accountant by trade, adopted St. Petersburg as his home and the Rays as his team. He loved to read, golf and laugh, sometimes at others, but usually at himself. David C. Gross Funeral Homes - Central Ave Chapel in St. Petersburg is serving the family.
