Obituary John J. Flynn, 58, an Electrical Engineer/Planning & Control Analyst, of Colorado Springs, CO, passed away suddenly on February 7, 2017 in Islamabad, Pakistan. Born in Woodbury, New Jersey, John was a 1976 graduate of Shawnee High School in Medford, NJ. It was also in Medford where he had previously been a volunteer firefighter for the Medford Township Fire Department. John was a member of UA Local 58 Plumbers and Pipefitters in Colorado Springs, CO. He was a lifelong motorcycle enthusiast who loved his Harley Davidson and his extended Harley family. Johns employment allowed him to travel to many places around the globe. He enjoyed immersing himself in other cultures during his many assignments abroad. In 2015, John took a long-awaited trip with his wife, Rene`, through the cities and countryside of Ireland. He was a devoted son, brother, husband, father, and friend. He will be truly missed by all. John was preceded in death by his parents, Janet Jones (John) and John Flynn, Sr. (Elizabeth); stepfather, John McDowell; and sibling, Teresa Flynn. He is survived by his loving wife, Rene`; daughter, Jacqueline; siblings, Kathy Flynn, Bryan McDowell, and Richard McDowell (Bary); uncle, Robert Hough (Ann); nieces, Jennifer Lacava, Nicole Lacava, Amanda Conder, and Emily Gittleman (Adam); nephews, William Lacava, David Conder, and Jesse McDowell (Katie); five great-nephews; and three great-nieces. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made in Johns memory to the Halo for Freedom Warrior Foundation, 100 Spanish Oak Road, Willow Park, Texas 76087. Memorial service will be at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Thursday, March 2, 2017 at 11:00 am. Services Holy Cross Lutheran Church 4125 Constitution Ave Colorado Springs, CO.
