John Forsey, Jr.

Fonda - John Forsey, Jr., 62, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at Ellis Hospital on Monday, February 5, 2024. Born on March 15, 1961, in Amsterdam, a son of Addie Bell (Cromer) and the late John Forsey, Sr. A lifelong resident of the area, John attended Fonda-Fultonville Central School. In his younger years, John worked for his family tree service business, often he would be swinging from the trees. John loved to hunt and fish with his family and friends, he loved to teach his grandchildren; as well as host pig roasts and clam bakes. Most recently, John worked for over 30 years as a welder with Anderson Instruments in Glen. He was a member of the VFW in Fonda, the American Legion, Gloversville Moose, Pine Tree Rifle Club, the NRA and many other organizations as well. John was a loving father, grandfather, brother and friend who will be dearly missed by all. John is survived by his children, Jason (Courtney) and Jessica (Randy); brother, Jim; sisters, Debbie (Bill), Lu-Ann (Jim), Lori, Tina and Melissa; grandchildren, Andrea (Jesse), Staysha (CJ), Jordan, Danial, Nickolas, Joshua, Johnathan, James, Janet, Katlyn, Randy and Addison; great-granddaughter, Jasmine. Many nieces and nephews also survive. Calling hours for John will be held on Saturday, February 10, 2024 from 1pm until 4pm at Betz, Rossi, Bellinger & Stewart Family Funeral Home, 15 Main Street, Fultonville. Burial will take place in the spring at Maple Ave Cemetery. Following calling hours, there will be a gathering to celebrate John’s life at the VFW Post 942, 2495 St. Hwy. 30A, Fonda.
