John James Greer
August 25th, 1947 - March 2nd, 2024
John James Greer, age 76, of Kingsport, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 2, 2024, at Holston Manor in Kingsport. He was a retiree and veteran of the United States Military having proudly served his country in the US ARMY as a SGT, Jump Master and Ranger. John would continue his career until retiring with 19 years of service in the US ARMY as a military policeman. He was a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church. John will be greatly missed by those left to cherish his memory. John is survived by his loving wife, Wilma Greer. A visitation will be held from 11:00 am – 12:00 pm on Thursday, March 7, 2024, at Carter-Trent Funeral Home in Kingsport. A Military Graveside Service will follow at 1:00 pm at East Lawn Memorial Park with American Legion Hammond Post #3/265 performing military honors and Pastor Wayne Baker officiating.
