John J. Griffing 58, of North Port passed away on September 27, 2006. He was born on January 24, 1948 in Bridgeport, CT and moved to the area Three years ago from Brookline, New Hampshire. Mr. Griffing was the owner operator of Griffing Riverside Restaurant in Brookline, NH. He was a member of the Rotary in Brookline and was a avid golfer. Survivors include his wife of 31 years Judith a daughter; Bonney L. Kinney of Brookline, NH a son; Richard M. Griffing of Greenfield, NH; two sisters Patricia Griffing of Land O Lakes, FL, Nancy Tokarz of Lutz, FL; three brothers Paul Griffing of Atlanta, GA, Richard Griffing of Tampa, FL and Thomas Griffing of Wesley Chapel, FL along with four granddaughters. A memorial will be Monday October 2, 2006 at 1:30pm at Farley Funeral Home North Port Chapel. Memorial Donation may be made to American Diabetes Association 4902 Eisenhower Blvd Suite 295 Tampa, FL 33634.
