John Kenneth Harris

Lt. Col. John Kenneth Harris, 70, of Las Vegas, Nevada, formerly of Smithfield, Virginia, passed away December 5, 2021. He was born on November 23, 1951 in Tarrytown, New York to Jane Sinnott and Kenneth J. Harris. John dedicated over 25 years to his career in the United States Marine Corps. He then went on to work as a civilian employee with the Department of Defense. John was a lifetime veteran, who loved his country. He is survived by his: wife, Diana; children, Alexandra Presley, William Guinn, and Nicole Benham; siblings, Ann Harris and Susan Leonard; granddaughter, Raegan Guinn; and grandsons, Rylan Buchanan and Alexandr Guinn. He was preceded in death by his: parents; and sisters Joan Velba and Mary Harris. Visitation will be on December 15, 2021 from 1:00-4:00pm at Kraft Sussman Funeral and Cremation Services, 3975 S. Durango Drive, #104, Las Vegas, NV 89147. Burial services will be on January 12, 2022 at 12pm at the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1900 Veterans Memorial Drive, Boulder City, NV 89005.
