John D. Harrison Sr. was born May 22, 1944 and passed away Wednesday September 28, 2016. He was born in Edison, GA and moved to Dayton, OH in 1964 where he owned the first black owned A-1 Ready Mixed Concreate Company. After retiring in 2006 he relocated to Tampa, FL where he started a landscaping business for the past 10 years. He is preceded in death by: his parents Charlie Harrison Sr. and Rutha Mae Harrison, brothers: Joe Harrison, Charlie Harrison Jr., Robert James Harrison, Bondie Harrison, and Clarence Harrison, sisters: Rosie Montegino, and Mary Louise Jefferson. He is survived by: A devoted wife Virgelene Harrison, 3 daughters, Cassandra L. Singleton, Annissia Y. Pate, and Michelle R. Pate-Hayes and husband Rodney L. Hayes I, 2 sons John D. Harrison Jr and Darnell R. Harrison. 9 grandchildren, Brian K. Foster II, Rodney L. Hayes II, Anna Maree Harley, Andrian L Harley-Harris, Darnell R. Harrison II, Daivon M. Harrison, Kiera D. Harrison, Ne’shae C. Hayes, and Eryn B. Hayes, 5 great-grandchildren London Harris, Paris Harris, Asia Harris, Rodney L. Hayes III, and Rhylee L. Hayes, , 3 sisters Juanita Gibson, Ruthie Neal and husband David Neal, and Onita Harrison, 4 sister-in-law’s Ruby Smith, Essie Mae Bethea-Gipson and husband Herbert Gipson, Carolyn Blackman and husband Joe Blackman, Maralyn Johnson and husband Marvin Johnson and 1 brother-in-law Leon Singleton, a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, cousins and friends. A memorial service will be held on Saturday October 1, 2016 at 2pm Location: But Now Fellowship 1950 W. MLK Jr. Blvd. Tampa, FL 33607 Pastor Kevin Hobbs is Pastor.
