John A. Heagy, 76, died January 22, 2018. He is survived by his daughters Carlyn Setser and Loretta Heagy; sons James (Angel) Heagy and Jay (Lori) Tompkins and grandchildren Billy Jack, Matthew, Joshua, Christopher and Angel and 5 great -grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife Geraldine (Wilcox) Heagy; parents Charles and Carlyn (Otter) Heagy; sisters Donna Gowl and Dorothy Phillips and brothers Ronald Heagy, Fred Heagy and Tommy Heagy. John was a proud Airforce veteran. In his youth, he enjoyed fishing and 4 Wheel Dirt Track Racing. In recent times, he enjoyed working puzzles and hanging out at home with his grandchildren. Being a Papaw was his greatest joy. There will be a Gathering of Family and Friends from 5-7PM, Friday, January 26, 2017 at Clark Legacy Center in Brannon Crossing, followed by a Celebration of John’s Life with Military Honors. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in John’s name to Wounded Warriors Project.
