August 1st, 1927 - April 26th, 2013
Hooper, John M. "Jay", 85, of North Redington Beach, died April 26th, 2013. He came here in 1960 from his native Pittsburgh, PA. He was an engineering graduate of Carnegie Tech and a registered engineer in 14 states. He completed the Alexander Hamilton course with special honors. He left his position of Chief Engineer of Tampa Bay Engineering in 1971 to start his own engineering and construction firm. He was a Navy veteran of WW II and a member of the American Legion, and a life member of ASCE. He was the founding President of the Tides Tennis Club and an avid HO model train & circus collector. He was a Protestant. He is survived by his wife, Jean; 2 daughters, Dawn Jan Ward and Tracey Kim Hooper; a grandson, John Ward; and his beagle, Snickers. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Thursday, May 2, 2012 at Reese Funeral Home in Seminole. Online guestbook @ www.reesefuneral.com. 727-391-9954
