John Alexander Isaac, Jr.

November 6th, 1926 - August 26th, 2024

John Alexander Isaac, Jr., November 6, 1926 - August 6, 1926, 2024, Hillsborough, Wimauma, Florida 33598. It is with deep sadness that the family and friends grieve the passing of our beloved John also fondly known as Jay, Ike, Jr., and Mr. John. He was a very proud native of Harlem. He was also proud of his Crucian heritage.

He loved volunteering at St. Vincent dePaul, Springhill, Florida, referring to it as the “best job” he ever had. John was a proud veteran and demonstrated this by wearing his WWII caps whenever he went out. As a true music lover, John was a Jazz aficionado and enjoyed listening to and talking about it with fellow enthusiasts. He had a good sense of humor and laughter came easily to him. Along with his other admirable qualities, John was very thoughtful and caring, and always had a good word for anyone he encountered. Everyone who had the pleasure of meeting him came away refreshed and inspired by his smile and positive disposition.

He is preceded in death by his mother Eglantine Isaac, father John Isaac, Sr., and son Vernon Isaac. John is survived by his loving wife Mary; two children Craig Isaac (Emillie), and Veronica McFarland. Other relatives include cousins Anastasia Doward, Gerard Doward, Irene Mason, Olivia Delgado Jenkins, and Brandon Newton; sisters-in-law Anna Palmer, Genevieve Stennett Ann Thomas, Alma Christensen (George), and Leslie Matthias; special nieces Irma Finlay and Sharon Brown; other nieces and nephews; and very best friend Joseph Rawlins. John was also grandfather, “Pop” to grandchildren Denise, Kim, Brandon, Yolanda, Rebecca, Yasmin, and Jazlyn.

Our family extends much appreciation and gratitude for the loving thoughtful assistance provided by the staff of LifePath Hospice. We also commend Komfort Keepers, St. Joseph's Hospital South, BayCare Health, and the VA Geriatric Clinic.
