John Masayoshi Kanda
July 10th, 1925 - December 16th, 2007
John Masayoshi Kanda Age 82 was born to Masaji and Kikuno Kanda July 10, 1925, Seattle, WA and passed away December 16, 2007. He attended Auburn WA schools, graduated from Tule Lake Internment Camp High School, Newell, CA 1943; served in U.S. Army 442nd RCT, 1944-46; graduated from University of Washington 1950, and St. Louis University School of Medicine, 1954. Moving to Sumner, 1956, he began a family practice office. He is survived by wife Grace, daughter Phyllis, sister, Betty Otani, Renton; Michi Nishimura, Redmond; many cousins, nieces and nephews. Predeceased by daughter Jean, sister, Helen Ohashi, brother, George Kanda. His special interests were ocean fishing, mushrooming, stamp collecting, Mariners, and organizations -- Sumner United Methodist, JACL, Rotary, and Pierce County Medical Society. Celebration of Life Memorial was held December 20, 2007. Memorials may be given to Good Samaritan (Hospital) Foundation, 402 - 15th Ave SE, #101, Puyallup, WA 98372, or JACL in c/o Dudley Yamani, CPA, 312 Harrison, #202, Sumner, WA 98390.
