John R. Manzer, age 58, of the town of Northampton died Thursday, May 25, 2006 at his home. He was born May 31, 1947 in Gloversville, the son of the late John H. and Joyce Elmendorf Manzer. A 1965 graduate of Mayfield Central School, he later graduated from Fulton Montgomery Community College. He served in the US Air Force in Vietnam. He later worked at the Fulton County Machine Shop, then at Coleco Industries on Patch Road, then at SLM Action Sport, also at ENSIMG Hudson, NY; and lastly at Fultonville Machine and Die Co. Mr. Manzer was a member of Pine Tree Rifle Club. His passion in life was hunting and fishing. He is survived by a daughter, Lisa M. Dingman of Johnstown; three grandchildren, Richard Dingman Jr; Kayla Dingman and Michael Dingman; two brothers, Brian Manzer and Wayne Manzer of Johnstown; a sister, Barbara Manzer of Johnstown; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his brother, Richard Manzer. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm Wednesday at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont St., Gloversville. Cremation took place at Park View Crematorium, Schenectady. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice.
