On May 24, 1952, Sgt. John Douglas Martin. Jr, was born to Lucille and John Martin Sr. in Cordele, GA. His father, John Martin Sr. aspired for a better life and moved his family to Brunswick, GA. He was educated in the Glynn County school system and attended Risley Elementary School, Sarah Molette Middle School and Risley High School. Both John and his brother were baptized at Mt.Olive Baptist Church on May 19th, 1963. After graduating high schoo in 1971, he left for the United States Air Force. In 1980, he met the love of his life, Nam Sun Han while serving in Daegu, Korea. In 1984, he married Nam Sun Han, then moved Dallas, Texas. He retired there after serving in the United States Air Force for 20 years. He and Nam “Jeanie” moved to their current residence in Warner Robins, GA. He was employed with the United States Postal Service for 18 years before retiring in 2018. With God being very important to John and his wife, they became active members of the Full Gospel Church of Warner Robins. His favorite past time was watching television and talking on the phone with friends and family. John and Jeanie were married for 42 years. He is preceded in death by John and Lucile Martin, his beloved and devoted parents. He is survived by his loving wife, Nam Sun Martin, brother Lorenza Martin (Marilyn), sister Ertice Johnson, Brothers in law Suseok Han, Juseok Han and sisters in law Kisoon Han and Youngsoon Han, aunt and uncle Edward and Ethel Mumphrey. Along with a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. John was loved by everyone. A celebration of his life will be held at Full Gospel-Warner Robins, Monday, December 5, 2022 at 11:00 AM. A visitation will be held one hour prior at Full Gospel-Warner Robins, Monday December 5, 2022. A graveside service with Military Honors will immediately follow at Parkway Memorial Gardens.
