John W. McCoy

February 13th, 2013

On February 13, 2013 John W. McCoy's life journey came to an end. Born in 1922, John devoted his life to his family, friends and his career in government. Following service in World War II, John began his career working on the Atlas Rocket program, the B-1 Bomber program and served as a nuclear weapons safety manager. In 1980 he was appointed as a senior adviser to the National Security Council until retiring from public service in the mid 1980's. John always knew that with great success came great sacrifice and responsibility. But he also knew that any measure of success achieved in work and life were secondary to family. John is remembered as a wonderful father and grandfather and he will be dearly missed by all who have known him. A private ceremony honoring John is being planned at his final resting place.
