John Moon

John was born in Junction City, KS September 3, 1950. He spent his early years in Emporia and Prairie Village Kansas and then moved with his parents, Dr. and Mrs. Rodger A. Moon and sister, Pam to San Antonio, Texas. He graduated from MacArthur High School in 1969 and began working various jobs. He worked in the oil fields in Midland-Odessa and while there he married and had a son, James Allen Moon. He later moved to Denver, Co. where he worked many jobs, mostly as a cook and chef. While in Denver, he had three children, Christal, Breck and Jimmy with their mother. Jimmy is now deceased. John became ill with a rapidly spreading cancer and passed away while in hospice care April 26, 2017 at the age of 66. John Breck was a wonderful little brother and will be missed very much. His survivors include his sister, Pam McAda and her husband Don of Granbury, Tex. Pam and Don’s son and family, Colby McAda, wife, Cammie and their son Gene Taylor McAda of Fort Worth, Texas. Daughter, Christal Manning and her husband Ernest and children Cameron and Christopher of Ft. Lupton, Co. Son, Breck Wood and wife Randie and children Caitlynn and Kelsie of Wyoming, Son James Allen Moon and children Jaden, Karalyn and Madison. Also, survived by his cousins: Judy Murphy of Emporia,Ks. Sandy Divan of Larkspur, Co. and Jann Doherty of Santa Rosa, Calif. The family would like to give a special “Thank You” to the staff and all his friends at Highline Rehab Center in Denver for making his last three years living there so happy and fun. Also, a special thank you to the staff at Porter Hospice Residence for the wonderful comfort and care given to him in his final days.
