John Charles Mulder of Nampa, formerly of Boise Idaho, passed away on Thursday, October 10, 2019 at the age of 69. John was born in Twin Falls Idaho to John H Mulder and Pauline J (Pollard) Mulder on March 10, 1950. The family moved to Challis where he attended elementary through high school, graduating in 1969. He then attended Idaho State University receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering. His first job took him north to Anchorage, Alaska to work for Lounsbury and Associates, a consulting engineering firm. John primarily worked in the native villages building roads and airports. During a trip back to Idaho, John was set up on a blind date by mutual friends and met the love of his life, Linda Charlene Yamada. They were married on February 12, 1977 in Challis. They were married for 42 years. Alaska brought many new adventures for John: commercial and recreational fishing, caribou hunting, river rafting and golfing. The most rewarding was raising 2 beautiful daughters, Takara and Kayleigh. He became a partner in LCMF Ltd in 1982 which gave him a taste of entrepreneurialism. In 1996, John moved the family back to Idaho and owned Idaho 4X4 for a year and then Line X of Idaho. John was involved with the Meridian Masonic Lodge, and the El Korah Shriners (Players unit) acting in the melodramas and providing behind-the-scene help. John was preceded in death by his parents and sister Christine. He is survived by his wife Linda; daughters Takara (Johnny Sullivan) and Kayleigh Mulder; granddaughter Sofia Sullivan; grand dog River; a niece and nephews. The family wishes to express their thanks to Dr. Jason Bronner and Kelly at St. Luke’s and the staff at St. Alphonsus Hospital for their care. A memorial service will be held Friday, October 18, 2019 at 2pm at Summers Funeral Home in Boise.
