It is with heavy hearts that we announce that John W. Myers, of Sullivan and formally from Hartland, passed away after four years of battling kidney cancer at home with his family by his side on Tuesday, November 13, 2018 at the age of 65. John was born to Robert and Veronica (nee Komiskey) Myers. He was a member of Ironworker Local 8 until his retirement in 2011. John grew up in a large family of four brothers and four sisters. He worked hard and played hard. John enjoyed riding his Harley, playing softball for several leagues in Hartland and Pewaukee, and visiting the watering holes throughout Wisconsin and other states. John loved being his sons’ tee-ball coach and the Scout Master for their Boy Scout troop. He was blessed by having several lifelong friends that he could count on and loved spending time with them. John will be greatly missed by his best friend and wife of 41 years, June; he was the proud father of two sons, John and James; the grandpa of Aiden; and brother of Robert (Sherry), Gregg, Patrick, Cathy Bromund, Jean (Greg Railsback), Diana (Randy Bonk), and Laurie (Wes) Vokes. He was preceded in death by his father, Bob and brother, Joe. The visitation for John will be held on Friday, November 16, 2018 from 3:00pm until the time of the 6:00pm funeral service at Cesarz, Charapata and Zinnecker Funeral Home, 237 N. Moreland Blvd., Waukesha, WI 53188. The family will have a private burial. The Rev. Tom Griffey will be officiating. Memorials are appreciated to a charity of the donor’s choice. The family would like to thank ProHealth Care Hospice for their wonderful care and support of the whole family.
