John Thomas Negri
August 7th, 1925 - September 6th, 2014
John Thomas Negri, Jr. passed away on September 6, 2014 in Santa Cruz at the age of 89. John was born to John Thomas Negri, Sr. and Caroline Barbagelata on August 7, 1925. He was a lifelong resident of Santa Cruz. John served his country during WWII in the U.S. Army. He had a 40 year career at PG & E, where he worked as a clerk at the 7th Avenue yard. He was an avid stamp and coin collector. John was a member of the Knights of Columbus. John is survived by numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Albino Negri and his sisters, Marie Louise Negri, Lillian Margaret Negri and Elena May Canepa. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for John on Thursday, September 18, 2014 at the Holy Cross Mission Chapel, 126 High Street in Santa Cruz beginning at 10 o'clock am. A viewing will be held at the Mission Chapel, before the Mass, from 9 am to 10 am. John will be laid to rest at Holy Cross Cemetery immediately following the Mass.
