John William Norris
October 4th, 1950 - February 22nd, 2012
NORRIS, John W., 61, passed away Wednesday, February 22, 2012 in Tucson, Arizona. Born October 4, 1950 in Cumberland, Maryland, he was the only son of the late William and Shirley (Fier) Norris. After high school, John served two years in the Air Force as a weapon control systems mechanic and later retired from Hughes/Raytheon as a systems engineer. He was a founding member of the East Side Track and Altitude running group, a member of the Arizona Trail Association, and a parishioner of Corpus Christi Parish in Tucson. Surviving are his wife, Sheila Norris of Tucson, AZ; two daughters, Sarah Norris of Tucson, AZ and Carla (Norris) Kenyon of Portland, OR; four uncles, Francis and Vincent Norris of Mount Savage, MD, James and Regis Norris of Ithaca, MI; three aunts, Mary Fabbri and Betty Shaffer of Mount Savage, MD, and Pauline Ritchey of Hyndman, PA; and a number of in-laws, cousins, nieces, and nephews. Visitation will be at BRING'S BROADWAY CHAPEL, 6910 E. Broadway Blvd., Tucson, on Sunday, February 26, 2012 from 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. with Rosary service at 5:00 p.m. Mass will be celebrated Monday, February 27, 2012 at 10:00 a.m., Corpus Christi Parish, 300 N. Tanque Verde Loop Rd., Tucson. Burial will immediately follow at Our Lady of the Desert Cemetery in All Faiths Memorial Park, 2151 S. Avenida Los Reyes, Tucson. Donations in John’s name can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, Arizona Trail Association, Friends of Saguaro National Park, or Humane Society of Southern Arizona.
