He was raised primarily in Caldwell with his 2 sisters and 2 brothers. He entered into rest October 28, 2012 in Middleton. In 1969 he enlisted in Navy and serviced proudly for 3 years. He enjoyed all the places his military service took him. He had many wonderful stories of his travels. On December 11, 1981 he married Cindy Naeve and they had 31 wonderful years together. To this union were born 2 children Jeannie Phillips-Downs and Gregory Phillips. He is very proud of his children In August of 2000 he took a R.O.A.D. He set the very 1st land speed record for the C Class Production Pickup and he continued to set and break the record for 4 years. It really was a family affair.
