Piper, John Hubert, 96, of St. Petersburg, died Saturday, May 12th, 2001 at Vencor Hospital, Tampa. He was born in Oakdale, IL and came here in 1969 from Baden, PA. He was a teacher at the Ambridge Area Senior High School in Ambridge, PA and retired in 1969 after 41 years of service. He was a WW II Army veteran. Locally, he was a member of St. Luke?s United Methodist Church and was active in various church groups. He was also an avid bowler and was a member of several bowling leagues. He is survived by 1 son, Richard of Tampa; 1 brother, Wilmer of Topeka, KS; 1 granddaughter, Carolyn Piper of Tampa; and several nieces & nephews. Anderson-McQueen Funeral Homes & Cremation Tribute Center-9th Street Chapel.
