John Edward Pope

John Edward Pope, 94 years of age passed peacefully October 18, 2015 in Tempe, Arizona. He was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Franklin and Josephine Pope and spent his childhood across the Canadian border on a farm in Milestone, Saskatchewan. During WW II John served in the Canadian Navy as a radio artificer after which he met and married Mary Jeanette Luedee in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Surviving John are his wife of 70 years Mary Jeanette Pope, two children, Franklin Robert Pope, Bruce Edward Pope and four grandchildren. John had a robust "joie de vivre" and enjoyed playing baseball, golf, amassing duplicate bridge master points and reading.
