John Laverne Powell, 64, of Columbia, South Carolina passed away August 1, 2024, at JMS Hospital in Augusta, Georgia. He was born on October 3, 1959, in Virginia to John and Joan (Hernacki) Powell.
John is survived by his brother, Robert Powell, and sisters, Deborah Raines and Annette Powell, as well as 3 grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Joan Powell and his daughter, Emily Williams.
A private funeral service will be at Celestial Memorial Gardens, as well as interment. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to an animal shelter of your choice.
