John Keith Roland

John Keith Roland, Sr. died February 26, 2019 at Piney Grove Nursing Center. A Gathering of Friends will be from 6:00PM to 8:00PM Friday, March 8, 2019 at Lambeth-Troxler Funeral Home. John was born October 21, 1939 in Franklin, NC to the late Geneva Tallent and Doyle Roland. In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his wife of 58 years, Janice Ashburn Roland; son John Keith Roland, Jr.; sister, Deannie Proffitt and brother, William Roland. Survivors include his daughters, Debbie Roland, and Donna Ryals and husband Mike Lawson; grandchildren, Chad Ryals and Katrina, and Dustin Ryals; great-grandson, Dakota Ryals; brother, Jim Roland and wife Jackie; sister-in-law, Jane Nelson and husband Bruce; nieces, Sandra Roland and husband Chris, Lorri Roland, Jan Proffitt, Melody Proffitt, and Erin Kuhn and husband Jason; nephews, Eddie Roland and wife Julie, Gene Roland, Mike Roland, Phillip Nelson and wife Tracy, and Phil Proffitt. John worked for Estes Trucking Company, retiring after a career that spanned over 40 years. He loved being with family, especially at large family gatherings. His other passions included fishing and spending time outdoors. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of the Piedmont, 1801 Westchester Dr., High Point, NC 27262.
