John Thomas Schultz
April 2nd, 1947 - October 21st, 2021
John Thomas Schultz, age 74, passed away from stroke complications on October 21, 2021. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Janice, his children Mike (Wendy), Jill and Sarah, grandchildren Matthew, Hunter and Miranda, and siblings Bob (Marilyn), Tim (Dina), Bill (Darlene) and Betteanne (Mike) and brother-in-law, Larry (Juanita). He was a member of Word of Hope Lutheran Church. John, a degreed electrical engineer from the University of Missouri, worked for Square D (later becoming Schneider Electric) for his entire career from 1972 to 2002, when he took early retirement. He held various design and leadership positions in Cedar Rapids, IA and Lexington, KY. One of his proudest achievements was publishing his book, My Walkabout - A Brain Injury Survivor’s Story of Discovery and Hope, after suffering a debilitating brain injury in 1993. He also accomplished his dream to become a licensed pilot. John was a lifelong learner, an avid traveler and a man with many hobbies. He will be greatly missed by his many friends and family members. A memorial service will be held 2pm Wed., October 27, 2021 at Clark Legacy Center – Brannon Rd followed by a reception until 4:30pm.
