John Howard Seel, Jr.

John Howard Seel Jr., 32, of Summerville, SC John Howard Seel Jr., known by family and many friends as Johnny, Red Beard or Big Red, went to meet his Lord and Maker Friday March 27th. He is survived by his wife, Michele Alene Seel; step-daughter, Jessica Higgins; step-son, Sebastian Higgins; son, John Jamison Seel (little Johnny); mother, Linda Lou Seel; father, John Howard Seel Sr.; sister, Jennifer Lynn McConnell and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews and nieces. Johnny was employed by MasTec Utility Services as a Lineman. He grew up in Summerville, SC, where he resided. Johnny attended Summerville High School. Johnny grew up an outdoorsman and enjoyed sports, hunting, fishing and motorcycle riding. He was especially fond of a day on the lake or a trip to the mountains on his Harley. Most of all Johnny loved Jesus and his family. He was a loving husband, father and son. Johnny often ended our phone conversations with “Jesus loves you and there is nothing you can do about it”. In that same spirit, Johnny loved out loud. His big smile and blazing red beard could light up any room. His dance moves and enthusiasm with which he approached life are legendary. Many have said that Johnny never met a stranger. Johnny’s desire to serve others was demonstrated by choosing to be an organ donor. Through donations three lives have been saved. The grief of our loss is overwhelming but we find comfort in the belief that Johnny is in Heaven with his Granny and many other loved ones. That God has explained His perfect plan for Johnny and his family and that Johnny is at peace. Johnny’s favorite verse was Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” We will struggle to understand why you were taken from us so soon but we will trust, as you did, in Gods word. Until we meet again, we will carry you in our hearts. We love you with all of hearts Johnny. Services will be held virtually Saturday 10:30 AM with no one in attendance and can be viewed via Facebook at: Remembrance of Johnny Seel’s Life Viewing will be 12:30 – 2:30 Saturday at Simplicity Funeral Home, 281 Treeland Dr., Ladson, SC 29456. Johnny will be laid to rest at Carolina Memorial Gardens, 7113 Rivers Ave., North Charleston, South Carolina 29406 at 2:30 following the viewing. The family request that in lieu of flowers. donation be made, in memorial for Johnny, to ChildFund International. Arrangements are being handled by Simplicity Lowcountry Cremation and Burial Services Summerville.
