John Spencer Jr.
December 3rd, 1943 - November 29th, 2018
My Life Story John R. Spencer, Jr. was born December 3, 1943 in Brisbane, Australia to Army Captain John R. Spencer, Sr. and Ansell Ranee Spencer. When John was two years old, the family moved to Algona, Iowa, where he was raised along with his four siblings; Robert, Signe, James and William. After graduation from high school, John served in the Navy from 1961 until his honorable discharge in 1964, when he began his lifelong career in house-moving. John moved to Idaho in 1971 and built his longstanding company, Associated Pacific Movers into the respected business it is today. Along with being a hard-working businessman, he was also well known in the community as a tireless promoter of youth sports. John helped establish one of the largest and most successful kids’ wrestling programs in the country which, at its peak, boasted nearly a thousand members. John was nationally recognized as the Regional Director of the eleven western states and was awarded USA wrestling’s Man of the Year award for 1983. John’s other passion was his love for whales which led him to his favorite place in the world, Baja California, Mexico. He spent many years taking family and friends with him on his exciting and inspiring expeditions to the Baja Peninsula. After being diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease in 2014, John retired from actively running his business and focused on his family. He continued to travel and enjoy life until his health failed and he ultimately passed away on Thursday, November 29, 2018. John is survived by his loving wife, Nancy; children John III, Signe, Robert, Tuck and Ben; siblings Bob, Signe and Jim; and nine grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Billy; and his first wife, Shirley. Our family is forever indebted to Keystone Hospice and Autumn Cove Assisted Living for their loving care of John during his illness. A memorial service will be held for John at the Ten Mile Christian Church, 3500 W. Franklin Rd., Meridian, Idaho on Thursday, December 6, 2018 at 1:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to the Idaho Humane Society. *Please see "Service Information" tab for service details.*

Accent Funeral Home
A local landmark in Meridian, Accent Funeral Home has been serving the community since 1986. The business was first established with a vision to offer services in a comfortable, homelike atmosphere. This vision is reflected in our building, a Tudor-style home built in 1938 for a local postman. When remodeling the house to accommodate the funeral home, much care was taken to preserve the original architectural integrity of the building. The Accent Funeral Home holds a special relationship with the Meridian community and is sensitive to the area’s changing needs, providing service and friendship to comfort those we serve....
