John Teetz
June 16th, 1915 - April 13th, 2008
John "Jack" Teetz, 92, passed away Sunday, April 13, 2008 in North Richland Hill, Texas. He was born on June 16, 1915 in Gloversville, the son of Paul and Hazel Ryder Teetz. Jack served his country in the United States Navy during WWII, including shipboard service in the Atlantic during the invasion on D-Day. He gave fifty years of service to his community as co-owner of Teetz & West Painting/Contracting in Gloversville. He enjoyed deer hunting and fishing. Jack was predeceased by his wife, Harriet Hart, whom he married on September 27, 1940. They enjoyed sixty-two years together. Survivors include a son, Jonathan E. Teetz of Gloversville; a daughter, Stephanie J. Finley and her husband, Larry, of Keller, TX; four grandchildren: Michelle Acker, Aaron Finley, Bradly Teetz and Katrina Chase; two great-grandchildren: Ethan Acker and Nicholas Acker; a brother; Raymond Teetz of Richmond, VA; a sister, Barbara Carbeneau of Johnstown and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife, Jack was predeceased by four brothers: Harold, Mark, Kenneth and Richard and two sisters: Eleanor Brownell and Rosemary Varco. There will be a private graveside service at a later date at the convenience of the family in Ferndale Cemetery, Johnstown. There will be no calling hours. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Kobuskie-Konik Funeral Home, 51 Fremont Street, Gloversville, 12078. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jack's memory to the charity of one's choice.
