John Howard Wayne II
March 6th, 1944 - August 27th, 2021
John Howard Wayne II, 77 of Apollo Beach, Florida passed away on August 27, 2021. John was born on March 6, 1944, in Vancouver, Washington to the late John B. and Mary E. (Freeland) Wayne. He graduated from Rincon High School in Tuscon, AZ in 1962. Following graduation, he served proudly in the United States Navy and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. John worked as a printing press operator at the Arizona Daily Star, and then moved on to a long and distinguished career career in construction management ending his career as a partial owner of a construction company & Estimator. He relocated to Florida to be closer to family. In his free time John enjoyed playing cards, volunteering at the church and spending time with family and friends. He will be remembered most for his sense of humor and nuturing heart. Survivors include his children, Tami Rhodes,John H.B. (Brenda) Wayne the III, Misti (Shawn) McAniff, Rachel (Stephen) Weems, Stephen (Kala) Wayne, Marie Wayne; grandchildren, Tasha Rhodes, Aaron Rhodes, Thomas Rhodes, John Wayne IV, Dakota (Thomas) Andrew, Austin Wayne, Corey Fenhaus, Carla Fenhaus, Sarah McAniff, Arianna McAniff, Ethan McAniff, Isabella McAniff, Brayden McAniff, Jackson Weems, Alexis Weems, Parker Wayne, Paisley Wayne; siblings, Cheryl Anderson and Rose (Roebin) Tyler; and many extended family members and friends. In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his wife, Carol Wayne and brother, Donald Wayne and son, Joseph Thomas Wayne. A visitation will be held on Friday, September 3, 2021, from 4:45 until the service at 5:45, The Crossing Church-South Shore Campus, 2409 E College Ave, Ruskin, FL 33570. A graveside service will be held at 2pm on Friday, October 8, 2021 at Sarasota National Cemetery, 9810 State Rd 72, Sarasota, FL 34241. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in John’s memory to One More Child at www.onemorechild.org or the American Cancer Society at www.cancer.org.
