John Walter Webb

John Walter Webb Age 85 Of West St. Paul, MN Passed away peacefully on May 4th, 2020 surrounded by his loving family. John is preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Marie Webb; sister, Joan Capistrant; brother, Pat Webb; and daughter, Susan Marie Webb. Survived by his wife of fifty-two years, Sylvia Webb, and his son, John Patrick Webb. His grandchildren: Lexi, Abby, and Aysia Webb, and his great-granddaughter, Magnolia Garrison. John grew up in St. Paul with his twin sister Joan, and younger brother Pat. He was a graduate of Nazareth Hall High School and went on to St. Paul Seminary. He then attended the University of Minnesota for graduate school to pursue his master’s degree in counseling. He married Sylvia Goodman (Webb) in 1968. John and Sylvia adopted John Patrick Webb in 1969, and Susan Marie Webb in 1970. John was a drug and alcohol counselor at Hazelton. He also spent years working for Catholic Charities at St. Anne’s home for developmentally disabled adults, and in 1981 began pastoring Word of Life church in Hutchinson, MN. In 1988, he relocated to the Twin Cities and started working as a social worker for child protection services in Hennepin County until he retired. He loved to spend his time fishing, hunting, and gardening. He was an accomplished carpenter and enjoyed spending time in his workshop. He was a man of many talents and became an avid self-taught saxophone player in the later years of his life. He was devoted to his family and dedicated his life to serving God and studying the Bible. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. His Celebration of Life services will be announced at a later date.
