John Wiens

John Wiens John Wiens, beloved husband, father and grandfather, left us to be with Jesus, peacefully and surrounded by family on November 23, 2012 in Olympia, Washington. John was born in Winkler, Manitoba, Canada on October 12, 1927, moving to Washington State in 1964. A true jack-of-all-trades, his many talents included working as a cabinet maker, service station and tire shop owner, mechanic, barber, heavy equipment operator, farmer, land developer, carpenter and log home builder. Unselfish with his time and talents, he was always willing to lend a helping hand to his family. Love of God and family was John’s guide to enriching his family’s lives. His love, encouragement, optimistic attitude, knowledge and warm smile will be greatly missed. He was preceded in death by 11 siblings and first son, at birth, John David. John’s survivors include sister, Sarah Thomas of Portland, OR; eight great grandchildren; grandchildren, David (Tiffany), Tosha (David), Nicholas (Jennifer) and Jeremiah (Maleah), all from Thurston County, WA; sons, Blaine (Lynda) of Haiku, Hawaii, and Perry (Diana) of Rochester, WA; and loving wife of more than 62 years, Susan.
