Dear Dottie, Deb and Tristin:
I was so sorry to read of Rich’s passing in last Sunday’s paper. Although it has been a good number of years since we all socialized together, I have always held both of you in my heart. I loved that time we spent together and also all those hours we walked and hiked together. 
I always enjoyed Rich so much. What a bright light he was and I loved his sense of humor. 

If you are able and when you are ready, please join the Spirited Walkers at 9 am on Saturdays at RunHub. Yes, we are still out there walking the bike path! And training for the Eugene Half Marathon!!

Rich, Dottie, Debby and Tish befriended us when we moved into the house next door to them in 1977.  The movers were delayed delivering our possessions, and our daughter's second birthday was two days after our move-in.  The Hardy's came over with cake and ice cream and held a birthday party for her in our otherwise empty house!  We became friends, socialized and played bridge together, and enjoyed each other's company.  Three years later we moved to a different area of Eugene, so we saw each other less frequently, and eventually lost touch.  But we have never forgotten their kindness and their generosity.

We are very sorry to learn of Rich's passing, and our hearts go out to Dottie, Debby, Tish and their families.

Dear Dottie and Family,

In 2001, Dottie, we walked together with one other gal in the Portland Marathon. We were with Kay Porter's Spirited Walkers group. Kay took a photo of us three sporting team shirts and striding cheerfully toward the finish line. That was a fine day. During the months we trained for the marathon, I was delighted to get to know you and Rich. I remember a handsome, humorous, personable, and perceptive man. I admired the way you two supported each other to meet life's challenges. I was very sorry to read he had been ill and has passed away. That day in 2001 is one of my fondest memories. Rich, also, occupies an indelibly positive place in my memory.

Jane and I met waiting in line at Stein Mart😄. We shared a passion for clothes and our friendship grew out of that shared joy. Jane went at life with gusto! I am so sorry for your. lost. May you continue to pray and rely on the God of all comfort (2 Corinthians 1:3,4). As well as listen to how he directs us in order to maintain a peaceful life (Isaiah 48:17,18). Again, I am so sorry.

To the Joiners: I am sorry to learn of your Mothers passing. Please know she was always super kind neighbor when I was growing up. She looked out for me and I am forever grateful! May God comfort each one of you!
