Surrounded by family that loved him, Johnny Thomas Amos, 80, closed his eyes on Earth and opened them in Heaven on April 16, 2021. He was a remarkable man… loved by all who knew him and respected by all his family and friends. Johnny was God’s faithful servant, leading many to the Lord including “his kids” he taught in Sunday School at Bunker Hill United Methodist Church for many years. He was a long-time member of Bunker Hill United Methodist Church in Kernersville, NC. Johnny was always kind and even on his hardest days had a smile and a joke. He lit up every room and all the nurses and doctors especially loved him. He was still 25 at heart! He enjoyed NASCAR Racing and volunteering at Beeson Fire Department. He worked for the United States Postal Service for 40 years and Lowe’s Hardware for 8 years before retiring to help raise his children and grandchildren who adored him. God welcomed him Home for a glorious reunion with his parents, George Washington Amos and Ina Crews Amos, and son, Stephen “Steve” Thomas Amos. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Linda Hollifield Amos and granddaughter/daughter, Courtney Alexis Amos. Brother, George Ralph Amos, and sister, Shirley Amos Camp. Daughters, Tamara “Tammy” Amos Hudson, Robin Amos Setliff, and Kimberly “Kim” Amos Fayad. Grandchildren, Richard Kendall Hudson, Stephen Thomas Amos Jr, Heather Hudson Vandiver, Brittany Nicole Bowling, Brandon Christopher Brock, Devyn Elisabeth Amos, Nickolas Mohsen Fayad, and Noah Mohsen Fayad. Great-grandchildren, Brantleigh Kendall Sprouse, Blake Taylor Sprouse, Jak Abram Steven Vandiver and Kaylee Marie Setliff. Also, many extended family and friends who are devastated to say goodbye to a man who impacted them in so many ways. Visitation will be held Wednesday, April 21st from 6:00PM to 8:00PM at Pierce-Jefferson Funeral and Cremation Services, 213 West Mountain Street, Kernersville, NC. A funeral service will be held Thursday, April 22nd at 1:00PM in the Chapel of Pierce-Jefferson Funeral and Cremation Services with Rev. David Rorie officiating the funeral service. Burial will follow immediately after the funeral in Bunker Hill United Methodist Church Cemetery.
