Jon Gordon Ladwig
September 5th, 1941 - July 31st, 2020
Jon Gordon Ladwig, age 78, long-time resident of Englewood, Colorado passed away at Orchard Park Health Care Center on Friday, July 31, 2020. Jon was born September 5, 1941 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to George and LaVerne Ladwig and was the oldest of two children (younger brother Peter). Jon was a proud Vietnam-era Veteran that served his country in the United States Air Force and was stationed at Lowry Air Force Base in Denver, Colorado. While stationed at Lowry, Jon met his wife Lola (Haney) and the two of them would go on to celebrate 56 years of marriage. Jon received his Bachelor of Science degree in Business from the University of Wisconsin at Parkside in 1973 and worked in project management for firms including Martin Marietta Data Systems. Jon was the organist for the Colorado Rockies Baseball club for 5 seasons culminating in their World Series appearance in 2007. Jon was an avid reader and sports fan, often listening to games while reading simultaneously. Jon is survived by his wife Lola (Haney) Ladwig; his three sons Scott Ladwig (Margaret “Peggy”), Jeffrey Ladwig (Jodi), and Mark Ladwig (Tonya); his nine grandchildren Matthew Ladwig (Moonie Kim) , Andrew Ladwig (Ashley), Allison Harris (Wayman), Nicholas Ladwig, Daniel Ladwig, Brian Ladwig, Timothy Ladwig, Taylor Ladwig, and Mark Ladwig, Jr.; and three great-grandchildren Lola Robin Ladwig, Alexie James, and Aurora Harris. Jon’s Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, September 15th 11:30am at St. Paul Community Church, 8001 W. 23rd Avenue, Lakewood, CO 80214. Internment will be 1:15pm (1:00pm arrival) at Ft. Logan National Cemetery, 4400 W. Kenyon Avenue, Denver, CO 80236. Reception to immediately follow internment (details will be given at the memorial service).
