Riverside Funeral Home - Santa Fe
Jon Paul Romero
December 26th, 1979 - January 26th, 2022
Jon Paul Romero (JP) Jon Paul Romero passed away unexpectedly on 01/26/22. Jon Paul was known by most as JP and nicknamed Squirrel by many. He was very loved by many family and friends. He was a big movie buff that would have a movie quote for every situation, often quoting movies or song lyrics in his conversations. He was always ready for a good time and would make friends easily. He was his happiest when spending time with his family. Many of his special moments were spent with his sister Celina and Nephews Phillip and Damian. He was a long time cook at Long John Silvers in Santa Fe but had been a cook at Hooters in Albuquerque in recent years. JP was met at Heavens gate by his beloved father Antonio (Tony) Romero whom he missed dearly. He is preceded in death by his step mother Katherine Gonzales and Uncles Orlando Chavez, Reuben Romero, Danny Landin, and Don Fairchild. He is survived by his children Javier and Alonso; his mother Karen Fairchild; his sisters Celina Romero, Tammy Tapia (Jerry), and Nicole Kvam; Brother Christopher Kvam; Nephews Philip Roybal, Damian (Andrea) Roybal, Randy Roybal, Adrian Lujan (Haleigh), and Jason Lujan; Niece Amber Roybal; Great Niece Laylanie Roybal and Great Nephew Damian JR (DJ). He’s also survived by his aunts Sharron Fairchild, Patricia Landin, Lorraine Gurule (Lena), Anita Romero (Orlando), Irene Chavez, Annette Romero, and Uncle Clyde Chavez as well as many cousins. The family would like to thank everyone for the love and support they have received as well as attending JP’s memorial balloon release. Celebration of life will take place: Thursday June 2, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Thomas Aquanis Church located at 1502 Sara Rd. in Rio Rancho. Refreshments will be served following the service. We ask that you please RSVP to the family. Burial and Reception: JP will be put to rest alongside his father Friday June 10th at The Agua Fria Cemetery in Santa Fe at 11 a.m. with the reception immediately after at the Nancy Rodriguez Center.
